In Kostanay region, more than 700 police and military personnel are helping to combat the flood situation in the region. Among them are 100 servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and 120 cadets of the Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Sh.Kabylbayev, who help in cordoning off the area during the evacuation of people and the laying of inert materials. In his address to the people of Kazakhstan, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to rescuers, police officers, volunteers and all concerned citizens involved in the fight against the elements, calling for "preserving the unity of the people, social cohesion and fortitude."
