He is a prolific writer who has worked productively in the field of poetry, prose, drama, and has created a coral cluster of works of art with a clear signature. About fifteen large-scale poems, such as "Kuy", "Dala", "kuishi", "Kulager", born from his pen, are the pearls of Kazakh poetry. Among the prose works of I. Zhansugurov is the novel "comrades". The writer also worked productively in the field of literary criticism and translation. In addition to many poems by A. Pushkin, he translated the novel "Eugene Onegin" into Kazakh for the first time in full. In the country, several schools, streets, districts, settlements, Zhetysu State University in Taldykorgan were named after I. Zhansugurov. In 1994, a bronze monument to the poet was erected on the square opposite the University. There is a literary and memorial museum dedicated to the life and works of the poet in Taldykorgan.
