Astana is the capital of the new era
On July 6, 1994, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to accept the proposal of the President of Kazakhstan to move the capital of the Republic from Almaty to the city of Akmola (now Astana). At the same time, Akmola was officially declared the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan on December 10, 1997. This holiday has an important historical and cultural significance for the people and is a symbol of the achievements of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On the eve of the celebration of the significant date, the book exhibition "Astana- zhana dauirdin astanasy" was decorated in the reading room of the library of the Kostanay Academy. The exhibition presents literature on the history of the formation of the capital of Kazakhstan, on the importance of Astana as an administrative and important historical and cultural center of the country.
