International Scientific and Practical Conference: key results and achievements

From October 31 to November 1 of this year, an international scientific and practical conference "The Penal Enforcement system of the Russian Federation: issues of execution of criminal penalties, implementation of probation measures, interaction with public authorities and civil society institutions" was held in Ryazan. This large-scale event was timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the Academy of Law and Management of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.

The conference brought together leading penitentiary scientists from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Representatives of the Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Shrakbek Kabylbayev also took part in the conference: head of the Academy, Major General of Police Darmenov A.D., Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology, Doctor of Law Skakov A.B., and head of the department of the research center, Lieutenant Colonel of Police Auzhanov R.B.

Before the start of the plenary session, a meeting was held with the head of the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, Major General of the internal service Nikityuk S.M. During the meeting, issues of international cooperation in the field of personnel training for the penitentiary service and strengthening cooperation in research activities were discussed. For their contribution to the development of international cooperation and improvement of the penal enforcement system of Kazakhstan, the staff of the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia were awarded medals and diplomas from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the conference, representatives of structural divisions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, territorial authorities, scientific and educational organizations, as well as foreign colleagues made presentations. The topics of the reports covered a wide range of issues: from historical and theoretical and legal aspects of the functioning of the penal enforcement system to modern challenges and prospects of digital transformation.

Of particular interest was the report of Doctor of Law A.B. Skakov on the topic "On the processes of execution of sentences and probation (on the example of the Republic of Kazakhstan)". The presentation provoked a lively response and became an occasion for lively discussions among the conference participants.

The conference ended with a big festive concert at the Ryazan Philharmonic. The concert program presented the main milestones in the history of the Academy, its achievements and the contribution of graduates to the development of the penal system. The conference became a vivid example of an effective international dialogue that promotes the development of scientific and educational initiatives in the field of the penitentiary system.
