The Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Shrakbek Kabylbayev implements educational programs of higher and postgraduate education that meet the requirements of state compulsory education standards. Education at the Academy is carried out in the state and Russian languages.
6В12301 – “Law enforcement” Upon completion of training, cadets are appointed to the following positions:
Administrative activities of internal affairs bodies:
- District Police Inspector;
- District police inspector for juvenile affairs;
- Inspector of Administrative Practices;
- Migration Service Group Inspector;
- Patrol Police Inspector;
- Assistant District Police Inspector;
- Inspector of the Operational Control Center;
- Inspector for the Protection of Women from Violence;
- Environmental Police Inspector;
- Inspector for the control of civilian weapons.
Penal system:
- Probation Officer;
- Head of the detachment of the department for educational and socio-psychological work among convicts;
- Detective officer of the operational department;
- Security department detective;
- Deputy duty assistant to the head of the institution;
- Inspector of the Department of Labor Organization of Convicts;
- Inspector of Theological and Rehabilitation Work;
- Special accounting inspector.
Conditions of study at the Academy:
- Free accommodation in a hostel;

- The period of full-time study at the Academy is equivalent to completing compulsory military service and is counted towards length of service in law enforcement agencies;
- Graduates are guaranteed employment upon completion of training with the award of the officer rank of “Police Lieutenant” or “Lieutenant of Justice” and the academic degree “Bachelor”.
Citizens who have expressed a desire to enroll in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs submit applications in any form to the personnel services of the territorial police departments at their place of residence or to the Academy through “Online Admission”
The following are exempt from selection based on physical indications : candidates who have the sports qualification “Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and who have submitted supporting documents to the selection committee of a special educational institution.
Outside the competition the following are accepted:
- Children of employees who died or became disabled in the line of duty and who scored a threshold level of points;
- Persons who completed military service in the National Guard;
- School graduates awarded the “Altyn Belgi” badge;
- Persons who have passed the UNT and scored more than 100 points according to its results.
Requirements for candidates
- Citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
- Age from 16 years;
- No criminal record;
- Height: girls from 160 cm, boys from 170 cm;
