The grand opening of the chess club took place at the Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Academy's leadership, teachers, and cadets. Among the invited guests were: Sailaubek Eschanov, Chairman of Kostanay regional Maslikhat, Peter Kostenko, international grandmaster, four-time champion of Kazakhstan in classical chess among men, Pavel Rusanov, Executive director of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation branch in Kostanay region, Alexander Kalashnikov, head of the chess club at ChelSU, Askar Musainov, manager of the Chess Federation, as well as veterans of the Academy. The head of the Academy, Police Major General Akinkali Darmenov, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of intellectual development in the training of modern Interior Ministry employees. The club has all the conditions for comfortable play and learning: a spacious room, comfortable tables, high-quality chess sets and a chess clock. It is planned to hold regular classes with experienced coaches, organize tournaments of various levels and participate in city and regional chess competitions.
