An international training seminar has started at the Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Shrakbek Kabylbayev as part of the implementation of a regional program to work with those convicted of crimes related to extremism and terrorism, including those taking part in military conflicts outside the state. The participants of the event were greeted by the head of the Academy, Police Major General Akinkali Darmenov. Kostanay Academy has been a strategic partner of the penitentiary system in Kazakhstan for five years and is considered as a regional hub for training employees of the penitentiary system and probation services in the Central Asian region. Acting Head of the UNODC office in the Republic of Kazakhstan Madina Sarieva said that the program has already moved to the second phase of implementation. The first part of the project was marked by the opening of the scientific and educational Center for the implementation of the Nelson Mandela rules at the Kostanay Academy. She welcomed the guests of the seminar, partners from the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, thanked international experts from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Germany, who, having overcome more than a twenty-hour flight, are in the hall today and are ready to share their work experience.
